The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday  indicted Russia of creating a false narrative of  recognizing a ceasefire  blazoned by the Russian President Vladimir Putin for Easter,  pressing continued attacks on Ukrainian positions despite a temporary armistice. Zelenskyy stated that while Russia portrayed a ceasefire, Ukrainian records show 59 cases of Russian shelling, 5 assaults along the frontline and dozens of drone strikes.

“ As of Easter morning, we can say that the Russian army is trying to  produce a general  print of a ceasefire, but in some places, it does n't abandon individual attempts to advance and induce losses on Ukraine, ” Zelenskyy wrote on X.

The Ukrainian President further criticised Russia for its use of heavy artillery, noting that despite the ceasefire, the attacks had  boosted. “ The trend of  adding  the use of heavy artillery by Russian forces continues. ”

In response, Russia's Defence Ministry has  indicted Ukraine of  violating the ceasefire by carrying out overnight drone attacks in Donetsk, claiming that 48 drones were launched into Russian  home, performing in mercenary casualties. In the  enthralled Kherson region, Russia- backed  officers also reported strikes by Ukrainian forces.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reaffirmed Kyiv’s  amenability to extend the ceasefire for another 30 days after it expires at night on Sunday. still, he noted that Moscow has yet to respond. Zelenskyy blamed Russia for using the ceasefire as a “ public relations  trick ” without taking meaningful  way toward peace.

Russian President Vladimir Putin  blazoned the ceasefire just hours before attending an Easter service at Moscow’s Edifice of Christ the rescuer, led by Patriarch Kirill, a strong supporter of both Putin and the war. The  advertisement demanded clarity on how the armistice would be  executed, raising  dubieties about its  legality.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump  reflected on the situation, saying that peace addresses between Russia and Ukraine had reached a  pivotal stage.
