Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, is gradually enhancing its Grok chatbot with new features to rival platforms like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini. The latest update introduces a memory function, enabling Grok to remember past conversations and provide more personalized, context-aware responses.

This memory feature allows Grok to better understand user preferences over time, tailoring its responses based on prior interactions. Grok announced the update on X, stating, “Grok now remembers your conversations. When you ask for recommendations or advice, you’ll get personalized responses.”

The chatbot team clarified that the memory feature is fully transparent, allowing users to review and delete stored information. A book icon beneath messages will show remembered content, which users can tap to view or remove. The feature is currently available on the iOS version of the Grok app, with an Android version expected soon. It is optional, and users can manage or disable it in the app’s settings. The memory function is available in beta on Grok’s website and apps but is not yet accessible in the EU or UK.
