US pushes for peaceful ties between India and Pakistan while advancing trade talks, seeking economic cooperation without rising regional military conflict.
The United States has emphasized the significance of peace between India and Pakistan while continuing to immerse in trade discussions with both nations. These have included the use of drones, missiles, and heavy artillery the unusual military exchange in years.
Pakistan is especially tense about fresh taxes being imposed by the US, which could reach nearly 29% on its exported goods. The concern stems from the fact that Pakistan currently exports far more to the US than it imports, creating a major trade gap India also wants to negotiate a more equitable arrangement to reduce the current export tariff of 26%.
On the plus side, a limited trade agreement between the US and India is nearing completion and may be finalized as early as July. There are also talks about opening up over $50 billion in Indian government contracts to American companies. US officials said that friendship between the US and India is stronger than ever.
