U.S. President Donald Trump introduces "Project Homecoming," offering undocumented immigrants $1,000 to voluntarily leave the country, warning of penalties for
Former U.S. President Donald Trump introduced a self-deportation initiative, calling undocumented immigrants "illegal aliens" and urging them to book their free flights immediately.
In a social media post, Trump stated, “Today, I signed an Executive Order to launch the first-ever self-deportation program. Illegal aliens who remain in the U.S. will face penalties, including sudden deportation at our discretion. TO ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS: BOOK YOUR FREE FLIGHT NOW!”
The "Project Homecoming" initiative aims to encourage undocumented migrants to leave voluntarily with the federal government's assistance and financial support, or face potential enforcement and penalties. Trump is offering a $1,000 stipend to immigrants who choose to depart the U.S. willingly, warning that those who refuse could face substantial fines and prison sentences. Reports indicate that around 1,000 immigrants have expressed interest in the program.
