When Beijing staged its first mega military parade since 2019 showcasing shiny new missiles, fighter jets, and tight formations in honour of World War II’s 80th anniversary it clearly aimed to flex its growing power and global outreach. With dignitaries like Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un in attendance, the spectacle became international theatre.

From his Truth Social pulpit, he painted the event not only as a show of force but as an implicit affront to U.S. sacrifices in China’s past. He reminded followers of the American lives lost aiding China, lamenting that China hasn't properly acknowledged U.S. contributions. Then, he launched his stinging final line “Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against the United States”.
