The incident, which took place on April 22 in the picturesque town of Pahalgam, known as "mini Switzerland," marked the deadliest attack in Kashmir since the 2019 Pulwama bombing. A group affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba opened fire in Baisaran meadow, killing 26 people, mostly tourists.
