Following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, India has escalated its response by suspending the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Pakistan government within the country. This digital crackdown comes amid a series of strong diplomatic actions taken against Pakistan, which New Delhi has accused of backing cross-border terrorism.

The steps were announced after terrorists killed 26 civilians—25 Indians and one Nepali—near Baisaran in Kashmir, marking the deadliest civilian attack in the region in 25 years.

In response, India suspended the decades-old Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 and downgraded its diplomatic ties with Islamabad. This included the expulsion of Pakistan's military attachés. The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, met on Wednesday evening to formalize these measures.

Additionally, the CCS decided to shut down the Integrated Check Post at Attari with immediate effect. India also suspended the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme for Pakistani nationals, rendering all previously issued visas invalid. These actions reflect India’s stern stance against Pakistan in the wake of the recent terror strike.
