The Pakistani Army on Thursday stated that India had carried out a fresh wave of drone strikes targeting multiple locations, including major cities like Lahore and Karachi. In response, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority temporarily shut down Islamabad and Lahore airports “for operational reasons,” while Karachi airport remained closed until 6 p.m. local time.

These drone strikes come a day after India launched missile attacks under 'Operation Sindoor,' hitting nine terror-linked sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The strikes targeted key locations such as Jaish-e-Mohammad's base in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba's stronghold in Muridke, in retaliation for the April Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistani military spokesperson Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry accused India of using Israeli-made Harop drones in the latest attacks, claiming they struck several areas, including near Lahore where a military target was hit, injuring four soldiers.

“India continues its aggression by sending drones into our airspace,” Chaudhry stated from Rawalpindi, warning, “They will pay a heavy price for this provocation.” He noted that the drone operation was still ongoing. India’s Defence Ministry has yet to issue a statement.
