The Indian Embassy in Iran has issued a travel advisory urging Indian nationals to reconsider any non-essential travel to the country due to the recent escalation in regional tensions. In a statement posted on X, the embassy cited the deteriorating security environment over the past few weeks as the basis for its caution.

“Given the evolving security situation, Indian citizens are advised to avoid non-essential travel to Iran,” the advisory stated. It further encouraged Indian nationals currently in Iran and wishing to return home to use available commercial flight or ferry services.

This advisory follows recent conflict in the region, which intensified after Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion” last month, targeting Iran. In response, Iran carried out airstrikes against Israel and a U.S. military base in Qatar. The United States, in turn, struck three sites inside Iran, becoming more directly involved in Israel’s campaign to dismantle Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

The 12-day conflict concluded after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a unilateral ceasefire on Israel’s behalf. Israel maintains that its military campaign, which began on June 13, aimed to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons—a claim Iran has consistently denied.
