Imran Khan may secure bail on June 11 in the Al-Qadir Trust case, according to PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan. He asserts this is a legal process, not a political
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Gohar Ali Khan has said that party founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan is likely to be granted bail on June 11 in the Al-Qadir Trust case. Speaking to ARY News, Gohar clarified that the expected bail will not result from any political compromise but will be granted purely on legal grounds. He further emphasized that PTI will soon launch a national movement in collaboration with opposition parties, with Imran Khan continuing to lead the party from behind bars.
The Islamabad High Court had postponed the hearing of the Al-Qadir Trust case to June 11 after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) requested additional time to present its arguments. Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were earlier convicted in the case and sentenced to 14 and 7 years in prison, respectively. Gohar Ali Khan alleged that Bushra Bibi is being held without formal charges, calling it a strategy to pressure Imran Khan. He also reiterated that the party would not negotiate any deals for Khan's release, asserting that justice must be served through proper legal channels.
The Al-Qadir Trust case has drawn widespread attention as it could significantly impact Pakistan’s political landscape and legal precedents. With a crucial court hearing set for June 11, eyes across the nation are focused on whether Imran Khan, a polarizing figure in Pakistani politics, will walk free or continue to serve his sentence. PTI has also called on other opposition forces to unite in what they describe as a movement to save the country’s democratic and constitutional integrity ahead of the upcoming budget session. The next few days are expected to be critical for both the party and the country's judiciary.
