On September 19, 2025, a significant 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Russia Kamchatka region, causing widepread tremors and prompting initial fear of a tsunami. The earthquake occurred early in the morning, with its epicenter located approximate 128 kilometers east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the regional capital.
