Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) once again showcased their explosive batting prowess in the Indian Premier League 2024 by posting a massive 278-run total—the third-highest in IPL history—against Kolkata Knight Riders in Delhi on Sunday, May 25, 2025. The standout performance came from Heinrich Klaasen, who scored the joint third-fastest century in IPL history, reaching 100 runs in just 37 balls. The aggressive South African finished unbeaten on 105 off 39 deliveries as SRH dominated KKR in what was the final match of the season for both teams. Klaasen’s record equaled Yusuf Pathan’s 37-ball century for Rajasthan Royals against Mumbai Indians in 2010, though Pathan’s innings came in a losing cause. The fastest IPL century remains Chris Gayle’s 30-ball ton for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors in 2013, followed by teenager Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 35-ball hundred this season for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans.
SRH’s habit of scoring 250-plus totals continued unabated in IPL 2024, with the team holding the top four highest totals of the season. Their highest-ever total of 287 came during a thrilling match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, where the two teams combined for a record 549 runs. Their second-highest total this season was 286 for six against Rajasthan Royals.
