Amid intensifying military tensions between India and Pakistan, former Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma shared a heartfelt message in support of the Indian armed forces. As missile strikes and retaliatory attacks continue along the Line of Control, Rohit called for national unity and urged citizens to act responsibly. “With every step taken, my pride in our Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy grows stronger. Our brave defenders are standing firm for the nation’s honour. It’s crucial for all Indians to stay vigilant and avoid falling for or spreading misinformation. Stay safe, everyone!” he wrote on X.

His message came shortly after the Indian Premier League was disrupted due to security concerns. A match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala — located just 90 kilometres from Pathankot — was suspended mid-play following air raid warnings and increased military activity near the border.

Earlier in the week, India launched targeted missile strikes on nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, in response to the deadly Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. Pakistan responded by attacking 15 Indian cities near the border, escalating the already fragile situation and prompting heightened military readiness.
