In World Championships final Chopra below expectations India’s Sachin Yadav shines Nadeem exits amid strong competition.
Neeraj Chopra’s performance in the men’s javelin throw final at the World Athletics Championships 2025 was mix of highs and lows as the contest heated. After his strong qualification mark of 84.85m, many fans expecting him to dominate. But in the final, Chopra struggling with release technique, and many throws did not cross much beyond his early attempts.
Sachin Yadav, another Indian thrower, really shine in opening round. His first attempt of 86.27m electrify the stadium and placed him among top positions initially. In contrast, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem unable to keep his form, fouling several times and missing chance to push himself higher, leading to early elimination.
After three qualification rounds, Chopra found himself outside top 7. He show visible frustration, especially when his hand release wasn’t smooth. One of his throws mark 82.86m, another went foul. While his best distance stay in 84-85m range, it not enough to compete against big names like Keshorn Walcott, Curtis Thompson, and Anderson Peters, who landing their throws in mid to high 80s.
The final result indicate Chopra still world-class athlete, but on this day he fail to defend his title strong enough. For Sachin Yadav, however, it became one of his best global performance, showing that India’s depth in javelin is growing. Experts point out that in high-pressure finals, consistency is more important than single one-off big throw. With tough weather and heavy competition pressure, this championship will be remembered for both surprise outcomes and opportunities that slip away.
