LSG vs CSK, IPL 2025: In the match held at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, MS Dhoni-led CSK successfully chased down the target of 167 runs in 19.3 overs. This marked CSK’s second win of the season.

Dhoni scored a quickfire 26 runs off just 11 balls, including 1 six and 4 fours, earning him the Player of the Match award. With this, Dhoni became the oldest player in IPL history to receive the award, his previous one being in 2019.

However, Dhoni himself was surprised by the decision and said the award should have gone to someone else.

What Dhoni Said After the Match:

"Winning always feels good, especially since the last few matches haven’t gone in our favor. It boosts the team’s confidence. We struggled a bit in the first six overs with our bowling, but came back well in the middle overs. Our batting also needs improvement at the start — maybe it's the influence of the Chennai pitch. We can play better on good surfaces."

He added that the team made bowling adjustments to have more options during the powerplay, and also stressed the need to improve the batting lineup. Dhoni praised Rashid for his solid batting performance and mentioned that he’s been doing well in the nets too.

Who Dhoni Thinks Deserved the Award:

While accepting the Player of the Match award, Dhoni said: "I'm actually surprised that I got this award. I believe Noor Ahmad should have received it instead."

Noor Ahmad bowled brilliantly, giving away only 13 runs in his 4 overs. Even though he didn’t take a wicket, he applied significant pressure on the LSG batters, making a huge impact on the game.
