Supreme Court approves National Board of Examination’s request to reschedule NEET PG 2025 to August 3. Exam will now be conducted in a single shift with expande
The Supreme Court of India has granted approval to the National Board of Examination (NBE) to conduct the NEET PG 2025 examination on August 3, a significant change from the earlier scheduled date of June 15. The decision follows petitions from students seeking a single-shift exam instead of the usual two-shift format. The apex court’s bench, comprising Justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and Augustin George Masih, agreed to the NBE’s request for postponement, emphasizing that no further extensions would be allowed.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had ordered that the NEET PG exam be conducted in a single shift, following concerns raised by candidates about exam fairness and logistics. To comply with this directive, NBE informed the court that the switch to a single shift would require additional exam centers, enhanced security measures, and identity verification arrangements. Due to these operational requirements, NBE requested more time to prepare, leading to the rescheduling of the exam.
The exam, now slated for August 3, will be held in one session nationwide, accommodating a larger number of centers to ensure smooth administration. This move aims to address student concerns about exam integrity and logistical challenges. The Supreme Court made it clear that the new date is final, and no further postponements will be entertained. This ruling brings clarity to thousands of medical aspirants eagerly awaiting the NEET PG exam, allowing them to plan their preparation accordingly.
