The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has opened 3,131 vacancies for various Group C positions through its Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Exam 2025. Interested candidates can apply online at ssc.gov.in from June 23 to July 18. The recruitment covers posts such as Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA), Sorting Assistant (SA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO). The application fee is ₹100, which is waived for candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD, women, and ex-servicemen categories. The deadline for fee payment is July 19 by 11 pm.
Applicants must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. For DEO roles in select departments, a background in Science with Mathematics is mandatory. Age eligibility ranges from 18 to 27 years as of August 1, 2025, with relaxation provided for candidates from reserved categories. This year’s vacancy count is slightly lower than last year’s 3,712 openings, but the competition is expected to remain high. SSC will release further updates on admit cards, correction windows, and examination centers on its portal in due course.
The recruitment process will be conducted in two phases. Tier I, scheduled between September 8 and 18, will be a computer-based test comprising 100 questions across four sections, General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language. Each section carries 50 marks and the exam duration is 60 minutes. Successful candidates will move to Tier II, which includes a descriptive paper and skill-based tests like typing or data entry depending on the role. The SSC CHSL 2025 drive provides a major opportunity for 12th-pass candidates to secure stable government employment in clerical and administrative departments across various central government offices.
