In a step that has shaken the recruitment system of Rajasthan, the High Court has officially cancelled the 2021 Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination. The decision came when the paper leak was widely confirmed. This decision marks a dramatic reversal for thousands of aspirants who had prepared diligently, only to see their efforts crumble under the weight of fraud.

Justice Sameer Jain, in a pointed judgment, noted that the leaked exam paper had become alarmingly widespread circulated via social media, WhatsApp, and even illicit Bluetooth networks making the entire recruitment system inherently compromised. Rajasthan's Special Operations Group (SOG) had revealed disturbing details, including the use of dummy candidates and the involvement of criminal groups and conduct breaches by recruitment officials.

The Rajasthan government initially opposed the cancellation of the examination. His argument was that only a few candidates were guilty. The government believed that corruption could be separated and honest candidates could be allowed to move forward. But the court strictly rejected it and described this misconduct as so wide that it is impossible to ignore it. The matter was sent to the Division Bench to investigate the role of Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) officials to decide the accountability.

For the state’s youth, this verdict feels like justice realized. Many had voiced their frustrations through protests and petitions, calling the leak a betrayal of their trust. Statements from political figures like Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena hailed the decision as “truth prevailing.”

While this cancellation delivers some closure, the real work lies ahead rebuilding trust and ensuring that future recruitments are transparent and safeguard the aspirations of honest candidates.
