NEET PG 2025 likely to be held on August 3. NBEMS told the Supreme Court about logistical constraints and the shift to a single-session exam format.
The NEET PG 2025 examination is unlikely to take place before August 3, as informed by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to the Supreme Court. This update follows the apex court’s directive to conduct the high-stakes postgraduate medical entrance exam in a single shift across the country to ensure fairness for all candidates. Originally planned for June 15, the exam now awaits the Court’s final approval for the revised date.
NBEMS, in its official submission, explained the need for extended logistical planning. With over 1,000 centres in 250+ cities and approximately 60,000 personnel required for roles ranging from system operators to security staff, the board emphasized that conducting a single-shift, computer-based exam at this scale demands significant coordination. Tata Consultancy Services, NBEMS’s technical partner, has also highlighted the complexity of managing a uniform examination environment nationwide.
The change in schedule stems from a petition by the United Doctors Front, which challenged the previous multi-shift format on the grounds of inconsistency in difficulty levels. The Supreme Court agreed, ordering a single-session exam to maintain equal opportunity. If approved, the NEET PG 2025 will be conducted on August 3 from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Aspiring candidates are advised to monitor NBEMS’s official website for final confirmation and further updates.
