The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) and Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer IIT Madras BS Degree (Data Science and Applications) students the opportunity to take campus courses at IIT Ropar, with a pathway to MS admission. This collaboration will allow students to complete credits for their IITM BS Degree by taking courses at IIT Ropar.

The MoU offers several benefits, including direct admission to IIT Ropar’s MS program for IITM BS (Data Science) graduates with a specified CGPA, without requiring GATE scores. Students can also spend up to a year at IIT Ropar, apply for summer research programs, and engage in projects and internships under IIT Ropar faculty.

Additionally, IIT Ropar undergraduate students will have access to IIT Madras' data science and programming courses. Both institutions are committed to furthering educational opportunities, particularly for students from rural India. This partnership aims to expand academic and research possibilities while fostering growth for students and faculty.
