The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has launched a new six-month online certificate programme in Data Science and Machine Learning, targeting the growing need for tech-savvy professionals in the digital economy. Commencing on June 29, 2025, the course is aimed at working individuals looking to gain practical knowledge and enhance their capabilities in one of the fastest-evolving sectors. With the global job market increasingly driven by data and automation, this programme offers an opportunity to stay ahead of the curve.
Delivered through live online sessions by IIT Delhi faculty, the course includes training in Python, machine learning algorithms, data handling, and analytical skills. It caters to a wide range of learners, from early-career professionals exploring a shift into data science to managers overseeing tech projects. Emphasis is placed on industry-oriented learning through case studies, real-world datasets, and group discussions to promote peer-to-peer learning and exposure to business challenges. As per the World Economic Forum’s 2023 report, data and AI roles are expected to see a 40% rise in demand by 2027, making such upskilling programmes timely and essential.

Participants who maintain at least 70% attendance and successfully complete the curriculum will receive a certificate from IIT Delhi’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP).
