Ashish Sood emphasizes inclusive learning reforms, digital access for students, financial aid, exam training, and transparency in private school fees.
Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood has disclosed a detailed 100-day education reform plan, focusing on containing learning, digital doorway, and private school fee transparency. The report summaries major steps taken by the newly formed government to improve education at all stages.
To support inclusive education, the government has published ₹274.34 crore as grant-in-aid for 12 Delhi University colleges. Additionally, ₹19 crore was transferred directly into the accounts of 1,300 students under the Delhi Higher Technical Education Support Scheme, providing much-needed financial aid for higher studies.
In a big move to expand digital access, the government announced free online coaching for NEET 2025 and CUET UG 2025 aspirants. Under the Madan Mohan Malviya Vidya Shakti Mission, 2,200 students will get academic support, including JEE learning for 1,200 of them. Also, through the Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme, 1,200 worthy students will get laptops by September to support them remain competitive in the digital learning environment.
To address worries over arbitrary fee increases, the government initiated the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Bill, 2025. This move's goal is to ensure transparency in private school fees, a long-standing issue in the city. A revision of school uniform prices has also been proposed to make them more affordable.
Ashish Sood also commented on the ongoing fee increasing issue at Delhi Public School, asking why the previous AAP government failed to act. “Spreading rumours isn’t a solution. My question is why didn’t AAP resolve this issue when they were in power?” he asked.
The reforms signal a strong commitment to improve educational infrastructure, expand student opportunities, and bring more accountability to private institutions.
