UIDAI and Education Ministry mobilize schools nationwide to help 17 crore children update Aadhaar biometrics early using UDISE+, avoiding last-minute hassles.
Picture this: exams around the corner, anxious students, and panicked parents racing to update Aadhaar biometrics at the last minute. It’s a stress-filled scenario that UIDAI and the Ministry of Education are pre-empting with a smart, school-based solution.
In a proactive move, UIDAI has urged all Chief Secretaries of states and union territories to organize mandatory biometric update (MBU) camps in schools for children aged 5 and 15. That’s because when biometric data isn’t updated on time, it can cause serious ripples—delays in scheme benefits, roadblocks during university admissions, and added anxiety during critical exam registrations like NEET, JEE, or CUET.
Here’s the clever catch: through UDISE+ the Unified District Information System for Education Plus schools now have real-time visibility into which students still need their updates. It’s a seamless tech-led collaboration, with UIDAI and the education department pooling their strengths to streamline the process. No more guesswork; schools can now easily identify pending cases and take action.
There are roughly 17 crore Aadhaar records that still need biometric updating. Yes crores. And rather than waiting for crises to arise, this camp-style, school-integrated push brings convenience right to where it matters most: the classroom.
It’s one of those quietly powerful government efforts – combining tech smarts with school community reach to give children a smoother experience. No last-minute scrambles, no unnecessary stress just proactive care that lets students focus on what truly matters: learning and growing.
