In a surprising turn in a chilling murder case, 28-year-old Muskan Rastogi, accused of killing her husband, has asked jail authorities for permission to pursue legal education. She wants to argue her case personally, saying she no longer has faith in the lawyer currently handling her defense.

Rastogi was arrested along with Sahil Shukla after the remains of her husband, former merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput, were found in horrifying condition. His dismembered body was discovered sealed in cement and hidden inside a plastic drum at the couple’s Meerut residence on March 18. The gruesome nature of the crime has shocked the entire nation.

According to reports, the couple had just returned from a trip to Himachal Pradesh when they were taken into custody. Both were denied bail and have been kept in Chaudhary Charan Singh District Jail ever since.

Now, Rastogi’s latest request is drawing public attention once again. She claims that her lawyer is not presenting her side of the story properly and wants to gain the knowledge and right to speak for herself in court. While rare, this isn’t the first time an accused person has tried to take their defense into their own hands.

The case continues to grip headlines not only because of its disturbing details but also because of Muskan’s unexpected legal move. Jurisdiction is yet to decide whether she will be allowed to read up on law from jail and represent herself during the trial.

As the legal conflict unfolds, the story keeps raising new questions about justice, personal rights, and the complexities of human behavior.
