In New Delhi, Congress Delhi chief Devender Yadav and 55 party workers were detained by police on Tuesday during a protest against alleged “vote theft” in the Najafgarh area. The group was marching toward Jawahar Chowk without official permission, police said.

The Congress claims the detentions were orchestrated by the BJP to suppress dissent. Yadav denounced the move as an affront to democracy and vowed that this will not silence their fight against electoral manipulation.

Signature campaigns were also held in Patparganj, Badarpur, and Chandni Chowk districts simultaneously, the party said. Leaders including former MLA Asif Mohammed Khan and municipal councillor Ariba Khan joined the protests.

Police released the detained shortly thereafter, saying procedural issues (lack of permission) led to the detention.
