In his first major public event since assume office, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan address concerns related with U.S. tariffs, President Donald Trump statements, and India’s foreign relation, especially in context of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Releasing four volumes of Modi’s speeches from 2022–24 under theme ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, Radhakrishnan emphasize Modi leadership style: inclusive, attentive on public sentiment, globally engage yet grounded in service for humanity.

Radhakrishnan noted that even though U.S. impose high import duty on Indian goods, Trump still calling Modi as “my great friend.” He clarify that this friendship and respect is remain even under trade strain, and nothing said by Trump indicate he is “against Modi.” He also refer Modi’s friendly tie with leaders like Putin and Xi Jinping, underlining belief that deeper diplomacy often involve balancing relation in geopolitical complexity.

He articulated philosophy that India drive toward becoming global power is not about dominance but more welfare, contributing for humanity, respecting poor nations, ensuring aspiration of public are not ignore. At the event, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh pointed India’s dependence on other nation as major challenge, something Modi also acknowledge in other context. Government ministers present, including Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, also speak on Modi achievement: improvement in public health, food security, sanitation and outreach toward marginalized population.

In sum, Radhakrishnan messaging was to reassure that while trade tension exist with U.S., they not translate into personal or political antagonism toward PM Modi. He urge that leadership should aim for service without expectation, emphasizing India growing global role not through competition but with collaboration.
