Arvind Kejriwal critiques PM Modi Swadeshi call highlighting perceived contradictions in his lifestyle.
Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, has criticise Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent call for citizens to adopt 'Swadeshi' (indigenous) products. In a post on social media platform X, Kejriwal question whether the Prime Minister himself willing to abandon foreign-made goods. He specifically mention the Prime Minister's use of foreign-made airplane, suggesting that Modi's personal choice contradict his public advocacy for indigenous products.
Kejriwal's remarks was in response to PM Modi's address urging citizens to prioritize Made in India products and promote Swadeshi in every home and shop. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader comments have sparked debate about consistency of the Prime Minister's message and actions.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh also join the criticism, accusing PM Modi of hypocrisy. He point out that the Prime Minister uses foreign-made items such as glasses from Italy, a watch from Switzerland, a phone from America, and cars from Germany, yet advocate for use of indigenous products. Singh further allege that India continue to import goods worth crores from countries like US and China, while Prime Minister continue to call for adoption of indigenous products.
These criticisms highlight challenges in aligning personal choices with public policies, specially when advocating for nationalistic agenda like 'Swadeshi.' The debate continue to evolve as both political leaders and citizens engage in discussions about true meaning and implementation of promoting indigenous products in India.
