Yogesh, the prime accused in the gang rape of a 16-year-old girl in Kasganj, was arrested following an encounter with police. He was injured during the shootout
According to a elderly police functionary, the main indicted in the gangrape of a woman was arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj after an hassle with police.
The man, Yogesh, also known as Block Pramukh allegedly opened fire on police who fired back and hit the man severely on the leg. The 30 time old is among the 10 people involved in the gang rape of a 16 time old in Kasganj on April 10.
According to police, at around 1030 pm on Tatarpur Road, officers tried to stop a suspicious motorcyclist, but he tried to flee while opening fire on them. In response, the police redressed in tone- defense, injuring the man — linked as Yogesh — in the leg. He was latterly taken to the sanitarium for medical treatment.
The hassle was conducted during a routine checking operation by a common platoon comprising labor force from Kasganj’s Kotwali police station, the Special Operations Group( SOG), and the surveillance unit, officers added.
Police have recovered from Yogesh, a dynamo, 2 live charges, and 2 empty bones, a white motorcycle without the number plate and a brace of pillaged earrings.
