Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav claimed the BJP used the MahaKumbh 2025 to project CM Yogi Adityanath as PM candidate. He criticised severe mismanagement a
Samajwadi President Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday asserted that there was a plan to project Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath as Prime Ministerial candidate for the upcoming elections, during the recently held MahaKumbh and alleged that BJP made it a political event despite its religious connotations. “They wanted to turn it into a political Kumbh, not a religious one. It was not a Kumbh for devotees, but for political purposes,” said Yadav. “It is being heard that during the Maha Kumbh, there was a plan to announce his (Adityanath's) name as the prime ministerial face,” he added.
He also questioned the severe mismanagement in the organisation of the MahaKumbh 2025.
“Have you ever seen TV channels being given interviews during a Kumbh? Such arrangements were made here. This entire mismanagement has caused a major blot on the organisation of the event,” he claimed.
The SP chief also reaffirmed the unity of the INDIA bloc and said it will continue in the 2027 UP Assembly Elections.
