A tragic incident in Surat has left the local community in shock after three members of a family died while the youngest daughter survived following an alleged poisoning case. The incident occurred in the Vesu area, where a family of four reportedly consumed pesticide inside their home.
Police said the matter came to light after neighbours noticed unusual silence from the house and alerted authorities. When officers entered the residence, they found three family members unresponsive. They were declared dead soon after. The youngest daughter, who had also consumed the substance, was rushed to hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. Her condition is being closely monitored.
The deceased have been identified as the father, his wife and one of their daughters. Preliminary investigation revealed a suicide note inside the house. In the note, the family reportedly mentioned intense mental distress linked to financial pressure and alleged harassment over money related issues.
According to police sources, the father had claimed in the note that his car and credit card had been taken and that unauthorised transactions had been made, which added to the family’s financial strain. Investigators are now examining these claims and looking into the individuals mentioned in the note.
Relatives and close acquaintances have expressed deep grief over the incident. Family members have travelled from their native place to Surat after receiving news of the tragedy. They have urged authorities to thoroughly investigate the circumstances that may have pushed the family to take such an extreme step.
Police have registered a case and the investigation is ongoing. Officials are analysing the suicide note, financial records and statements from acquaintances to determine the full sequence of events. They have also indicated that action will be taken if evidence of harassment or wrongdoing is established.
