A tragic incident has deeply shaken residents of a Pune neighbourhood after a five year old boy lost his life in a road accident inside a residential society. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon in the Loni Kalbhor area, turning what was meant to be a safe space for children into a scene of heartbreak.
According to residents and police officials, the child was riding his bicycle within the society premises when a car entered the internal road. CCTV footage later revealed the moments before the accident, showing the child moving through the society compound just seconds before being hit.
The vehicle was reportedly driven by a visitor who had entered the premises to drop off a friend. As the car navigated through the society, it struck the child, causing serious injuries.
Neighbours and the driver rushed the boy to a nearby private hospital in a desperate attempt to save him. Sadly, doctors declared him dead on arrival, leaving the family devastated and the community in shock.
Following the incident, the boy’s father lodged a complaint alleging rash and negligent driving. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine accountability and review CCTV footage in detail.
