New Delhi: Australia will be without opener David Warner and all-rounder Marcus Stoinis in the third ODI match against New Zealand on Sunday, September 11. Warner has left the Australia squad to spend more time with his family ahead of a hectic 12 months, cricket.com.au reported. The Australian cricket board had already announced that Warner would not travel to India for the upcoming T20I series "as part of a managed period of preparation for a full summer schedule". He will return to action in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

Mohali will host the first T20I on September 20, followed by second (September 23) and third (September 25) matches at Nagpur and Hyderabad respectively.

Meanwhile, there are injury concerns in the Australian camp as all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has been ruled out of the third ODI against New Zealand due to a side strain. During the second match, Stoinis left the field with a side complaint in the 23rd over of New Zealand's innings. He didn't return to the field after that, as Ashton Agar replaced him in fielding.

Stoinis will undergo rehabilitation in Perth leading to Australia's tour of India, which is scheduled from September 21 to 26. Fast bowler Nathan Ellis has been added to the squad as a replacement for Stoinis.

The third ODI between Australia and New Zealand will be white-ball captain Aaron Finch’s last ODI match as he announced his retirement from the 50-over format. Australia have already secured the series 2-0 against New Zealand.

"It has been a fantastic ride with some incredible memories," Finch said in a statement. "I have been extremely fortunate to be a part of some brilliant one-day sides. Equally, I have been blessed by all those I have played with and the many people behind the scenes. It is time now to give a new leader the best possible opportunity to prepare for and win the next World Cup. I thank all of those who have helped and supported my journey to this point."
