Tensions within Bihar NDA rise as Jitan Ram Manjhi warns Chirag Paswan not to repeat past mistakes from 2020, encouraging unity and caution ahead of the upcomin
As Bihar gears up for its next big political battle later this year, tensions within the NDA alliance are beginning to surface. In a candid and pointed remark, Jitan Ram Manjhi, leader of the Hindustani Awam Morcha and a senior NDA partner, issue a clear alert to LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan. Manjhi reminded Paswan of the missteps in the 2020 elections, where his party fielded candidates against JD(U), indirectly hurting the compact.
The tone may have been sharp, but the intention seemed rooted in tensed. Manjhi’s message was normal: don't repeat the same faults. He recalled how the 2020 approach created unwanted disruption and weakened the JD(U), even though it helped BJP gain more seats. With the 2025 elections looming, he urged Paswan to work in sync with alliance partners instead of going solo.
Chirag, however, chose a more conciliatory tone in response. Calling Manjhi a fatherly figure, he said differences in opinion were natural in any alliance and shouldn't be seen as cracks in unity. He also assured that every decision would be taken collectively, keeping the larger interests of Bihar in mind.
Still, the exchange has caught the attention of political observers and opposition leaders alike. The RJD didn’t miss the chance to label it a sign of deeper unrest within the NDA, but Chirag brushed that off as typical opposition narrative.
As the clock ticks toward the state elections, all eyes are now on how the NDA balance internal tempo. In a state known for complex caste gain and sharp political shifts, even small tensions can shape big outcomes. Manjhi's caution and Chirag’s reply may just be the beginning of a long season of strategic adjustments.
