The Supreme Court collegium has proposed the transfer of Chief Justices from four High Courts—Rajasthan, Tripura, Jharkhand, and Madras. The recommendations were made during a meeting held on May 26, chaired by Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai. A resolution published on the Supreme Court’s website confirmed the decisions.
According to the collegium’s recommendations:
Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava is to be shifted from the Rajasthan High Court to the Madras High Court.
Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh is being moved from Tripura to the Telangana High Court.
Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao will transfer from Jharkhand to Tripura.
Justice K.R. Shriram is set to move from Madras to Rajasthan.
Additionally, Justice Tadakamalla Vinod Kumar is recommended for transfer from the Telangana High Court to the Madras High Court.
Justice Tadakamalla Vinod Kumar, born on November 17, 1964, received his early education in Suryapet (Nalgonda district) and later in Hyderabad. He earned his B.A. and LL.B. degrees from Osmania University and began his legal career in 1988 upon enrolling with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh. He trained under senior advocate Ravi.
Justice Kumar served as senior standing counsel for the Income Tax Department from 2015 and as special standing counsel for Commercial Tax from 2016 until his elevation. He was appointed as a Judge of the Telangana High Court and took oath on August 26, 2019.
