Satellite images released by Maxar Technologies and reviewed by Reuters offer striking visual confirmation of the destruction inflicted on terror infrastructure in Bahawalpur and Muridke, Pakistan, following India's precision missile strikes under 'Operation Sindoor' early Wednesday morning. These targeted attacks on key bases of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were carried out in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists.

Before-and-after imagery of Jamia Masjid Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur, JeM’s operational headquarters, reveals heavy damage. The pre-strike photos show the mosque and adjacent structures intact, while post-strike images depict collapsed buildings, debris, and significant structural damage, including large holes in the dome.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi confirmed the strike during a press briefing, stating that the Markaz Subhan Allah, located 100 km inside Pakistan, had been hit. Operational since 2015, the compound served as JeM’s central training and planning hub, housing senior figures like Maulana Masood Azhar and Mufti Abdul Rauf Asghar, and was known for indoctrination, arms training, and anti-India propaganda.

Similarly, satellite images of Muridke reveal extensive damage to Markaz Taiba, LeT’s primary training facility. Prior to the strike, the complex housed multiple buildings and training grounds. After the strike, widespread structural damage is evident.

Markaz Taiba, active since 2000, is considered LeT’s most significant training centre, annually enrolling about 1,000 students in courses ranging from arms training to religious radicalisation. According to Colonel Qureshi, the facility—located 18–25 km inside Pakistan—was used to train individuals involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, including Ajmal Kasab and David Headley. Osama bin Laden reportedly contributed Rs 10 million towards the construction of a mosque and guest house within the compound.
