Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit the Bhuj Air Force Station in Gujarat today, May 16, 2025. The base was among the Indian military installations targeted by Pakistan last week.

In related developments, the Indian Army announced on Thursday that it would implement confidence-building measures to lower its alert status, in line with the May 10 agreement with Pakistan to halt hostilities. This statement came shortly after Islamabad confirmed that the ceasefire arrangement had been extended until May 18.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended an offer of dialogue to India, expressing willingness to engage in talks aimed at peace. Speaking during a visit to the Kamra Air Base in Punjab province—where he met with military personnel involved in the recent clashes—Sharif stated, “We are ready to talk with India for peace,” but emphasized that resolving the Kashmir issue remains a key condition for any peace talks.
