Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that the Supreme Court's order to remove all stray dogs from Delhi-NCR is to retreat from humanity and science-based old policy. According to him, these unruly problems that are eliminated.
Rahul Gandhi said that shelter, sterilization, vaccination and community care is necessary for the safety of roads, and this can be done without cruelty. Suddenly the move to remove all dogs is cruel, short -sighted and insensitive. Both public protection and animal welfare can be ensured simultaneously.
In fact, the Supreme Court had taken automatic cognizance of stray dog attacks and deaths due to rabies. The court ordered a campaign to make shelters for stray dogs in eight weeks and start a campaign to catch 5000 dogs in six weeks. It was asked to start with sensitive areas and strictly on those who obstruct action. On July 28, the court described the issue as very serious and intimidating.
