In Parliament, Priyanka Gandhi targeted the government over the Pahalgam attack. She raised the question that when people went on the pilgrimage trusting the go
During the Lok Sabha debate on ‘Operation Sindoor’, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed deep displeasure over the mystery surrounding the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and the state of security preparedness.
She questioned that if the government had already declared the region "terror-free", how could such a horrific attack still occur?
Priyanka Gandhi accused the central government of shirking its responsibilities.
Her pointed questions and sharp accusations have become the focal point of the ongoing parliamentary discussion.
Here are her key points:
"Why weren’t security forces deployed?"
The Congress MP asked, “Why was no security agency on alert before the April 22 Pahalgam attack? Or were they withdrawn?”
Her direct question was—Isn't the safety of citizens the responsibility of the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Defence Minister?
She further said that Jammu & Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha had admitted the incident was a “security failure” two weeks ago, yet no accountability has been fixed.
She asked, “Did the Home Minister resign? Was the Intelligence Chief warned?”
Emotional speeches over logical discussion?
Priyanka criticised Amit Shah, saying his speech focused on history, the Nehru-Gandhi family, and emotional legacies, but did not address the core issue of the Pahalgam attack—"How and why it happened."
"Our identity was Indian, not Hindu"
Responding to some MPs referring to the victims as “Hindus,” Priyanka Gandhi said in the Lok Sabha, “They were all Indians. Giving this incident a religious color goes against the spirit of the nation.
Through her address, Priyanka Gandhi made it clear that the Pahalgam terror incident wasn’t just an act of terrorism, but a serious lapse in intelligence and administration.
She demanded accountability, transparency, and stronger security measures for the future.
