On Friday, Delhi High Court became the center of a major security alert after receiving a threatening email suggesting that three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) had been planted inside the court premises. The email specifically warned that the blasts could occur shortly after midday Friday prayers, putting the judges, lawyers, staff, and visitors at potential risk. In addition to the IED threat, the message contained menacing statements targeting the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, further intensifying the urgency of the situation.

Soon after receiving security threats, court officials implemented strict security protocols. All court rooms were evacuated and employees were instructed to keep distance from sensitive areas. The bomb detection and expulsion team (BDDs) were deployed to completely examine the complex, so that any suspicious object or equipment could be detected. Security forces surrounded the surrounding areas, ensuring public safety and prevented any unauthorized entry.

This incident caused heavy disruption in the daily functions of the court, several hearings were postponed or re -determined. Police officers are investigating the source of the threat, which includes identifying the email sender and finding a possible relationship with a large criminal or terrorist network. Meanwhile, judges and court staff remain on high vigilance, and have been temporarily increased monitoring.

Officials have assured the public that no explosives were found during the inspection, and the general court work is expected to resume after the comprehensive investigation is completed. The incident highlights the importance of cautious safety measures in public institutions and reminds that timely response and coordination can prevent potential tragedies.
