Russian President Vladimir Putin wished PM Modi a day ahead on the sidelines of the SCO summit. “As per Russian tradition, we never offer congratulations in advance, so I cannot do that right now. But I would like you to know that we know about, and we wish you all the best," Putin said.

Several events are lined up today to celebrate PM Modi's birthday with the most historic one being Project Cheetah Mission wherein the PM will release eight cheetahs arriving from Namibia into Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park.

PM Modi will deliver four speeches at events linked to wildlife and the environment to women empowerment, skills and youth development, and next-generation infrastructure on his 72nd birthday on Saturday. PM Modi will have a busy day on Saturday as he will attend four important events.

He will address the nation about the arrival of eight cheetahs, which will be flown from the Savannas in Nambia to the Kunno National Park.

Next, he will address a conference of women self-help groups in Madhya Pradesh. PM Modi will then address students from ITIs at the first ever Deekshant Samaroh on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti. Around 40 lakh students are expected to take part in the program. Officials said the Prime Minister will also address students at the first-ever convocation ceremony of students from ITIs on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti.

In the evening, PM Modi will launch the important National Logistics Policy and will round off his public engagements.

Among the four events, two stand out as unique as his birthday marks the reintroduction of cheetahs to Indian wildlife, after the big cats became extinct several years ago.

PM Modi landed in New Delhi after attending the SCO summit in Uzbekistan where he held bilateral talks with multiple global leaders.

Pm Modi to Release Cheetahs Today

PM Modi will arrive at the Gwalior airport from New Delhi at around 9.20 am and leave for Kuno National Park (KNP) in Sheopur district, about 165km away, where he will release cheetahs into quarantine enclosures at around 10.45 am, the official said.

The release of wild cheetahs by the prime minister in KNP is part of his efforts to revitalise and diversify India’s wildlife and its habitat, said a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Thursday.

“It is a matter of extreme happiness that cheetahs are coming to Kuno National Park. We the people of Madhya Pradesh are eager to welcome our new guests,” Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in a tweet.
