A disturbing video emerging from the Akashvani MLA Hostel canteen in Mumbai has sparked outrage. Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad was captured on camera while assaulting a canteen employee, allegedly served to him with stale dal-rice.

Gaekwad enters the canteen wearing a vest and a towel, after returning a smelly plate. He forces an employee to force to sniff food, then slap him loudly and punches him, seeing which the people present there are shocked. This shocking video became increasingly viral, causing a sharp criticism across the country for the conduct of public representatives.

When questioned, Gaikwad showed no remorse. Calling himself “not a Gandhian but a fighter,” he defended his actions as a lesson in “democratic language” taught by Balasaheb Thackeray. Insisted the dal was rotten and said he had repeatedly lodged complaints before resorting to violence, hinting he would do the same again.

This isn't Gaikwad’s first controversy. Last year, he offered a reward to harm Rahul Gandhi and has been linked to hate speech. Critics accuse him of abusing political power and called for responsibility.

Rival(s) leaders, including Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, condemned the attack and demanded action. The incident raises questions about oversight and discipline within political ranks, especially when elected representatives cross the line.

As the video continues to circulate, politicians and citizens alike are calling for stricter norms on decorum and punishment for misuse of authority. This disturbing incident has reignited the debate around behavior, accountability, and the real meaning of democratic conduct among public servants.
