India's economy has become even stronger and faster. Despite the increase in protectionism, especially amidst the policies of former US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proudly announced that India's GDP increased at a rate of 7.8% in the April -June quarter - which is the fastest expansion among the last five quarters. The boom in agriculture, the fast in manufacturing and continuous progress in the field of services led to this growth, gave better results from expectations, defeated the pressure on exports and proved India's economic strength once again.

In his recent address, Modi compared India's inclusive growth to the "economic selfishness" that is reflected with conservationist policies such as Trump. He once again reiterated that India will soon become the third largest global economy, and it will be fulfilled on the strength of travel reforms and multilateral cooperation.

However, beneath the celebratory tone lie cautionary signs. Analysts warn that sustained U.S. tariffs especially amid the ongoing 50% duties on key sectors might weaken export-driven momentum, threaten jobs, and erode investor confidence. Underlying inflation, a weakening rupee, and softer urban consumption further complicate the landscape.

In response, policymakers are recalibrating. Budget support, targeted reforms, and GST tweaks are being rolled out to bolster domestic demand. Figures like Uday Kotak emphasize the need for stronger fiscal support for SMEs to shield India from external shocks.

Simply put, India’s growth story is a testament to its economic strength, adaptability, and strategic depth. While global headwinds persist, the country’s balanced policy approach and bold pivot toward self-reliance underscore a confident stride forward.
