Security forces in Manipur arrested six militants from banned outfits, including PLA and KCP factions, and recovered pistols, rifles, and explosives during oper
Security forces arrested six militants linked to various banned groups in Manipur and recovered arms and ammunition, police reported on Wednesday (May 21, 2025). Three members of the banned Peoples' Liberation Army (PLA) were detained from Langmeidong, Elangkhangpokpi, and Kakching Ningthou Pareng areas in Kakching district.
Additionally, an active member of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Taibanganba) was arrested in Langthabal Khunou, Thoubal; a member of the banned KCP (Apunba) group was apprehended in Sawombung, Imphal East; and a cadre of KCP-PSC (Politburo Standing Committee) was taken into custody in Lamlongei Sabal Leikai, Imphal West. The arrests took place on Monday and Tuesday, according to a police official. Weapons including pistols, rifles, and bombs were seized from the militants during the operations.
