Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, on March 22, 2025, expressed concerns about 'secessionist forces' in Tamil Nadu and Punjab, highlighting the need for unity and integration in India. Speaking at the launch of "Hedgewar - A Definitive Biography" in Mumbai, he emphasized the relevance of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar’s thoughts on unity today. The Governor criticized divisive narratives and argued that India had been united long before British colonial rule. He also pointed out that Tamil Nadu, historically divided into multiple kingdoms, was created politically by the British and warned against further fragmentation.
Radhakrishnan stressed that India’s strength on the global stage lies in its unity and cautioned against internal divisions. Reflecting on his association with the RSS since 1973, he praised Hedgewar’s vision, noting how the RSS, despite starting with schoolboys, has grown into a major force. The book, authored by Sachin Nandha, explores Hedgewar’s cultural nationalism and his challenges with figures like Gandhi, Nehru, and Savarkar. Nandha described the book as a nuanced exploration of the RSS’s origins and its impact on modern India.
