The Joint Action Committee (JAC), led by Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, met in Chennai today and passed a resolution opposing any non-transparent delimitation process that excludes key stakeholders. Representatives from various states raised concerns about the impact of delimitation on their political and economic future. The JAC emphasized that changes to parliamentary constituencies should be made fairly, involving all state governments, political parties, and stakeholders.

The committee expressed concerns that states with successful population control measures might be unfairly penalized if their parliamentary representation is reduced. The resolution called for extending the freeze on constituency changes for another 25 years, citing the goal of stabilizing the national population. A Core Committee of MPs will coordinate strategies in Parliament to oppose any unfair delimitation proposal. The JAC also plans a public awareness campaign to inform citizens about the potential consequences of the delimitation process. Their goal is to ensure the exercise upholds federalism and democracy.
