C. Vijayakumar, CEO of HCLTech, earned a landmark ₹95 crore in fiscal year 2024–25, making him the highest-paid executive in India’s IT sector. His total compensation of about $10.85 million surpasses earnings reported by leaders at TCS, Infosys, and Wipro. This landmark pay package reflects not only Vijaykumar’s long leadership since 2016 but also HCLTech’s robust performance under his stewardship. Analysts say it underscores a broader trend in India’s IT industry—top executives increasingly earn compensation on par with global peers. While TCS CEO K. Krithivasan earned significantly less about ₹25 crore ($3 million) in FY 2024 Infosys’s Salil Parekh and Wipro’s former CEO earned middle‑range ties of approximately $6–7 million, positioning Vijaykumar firmly at the top. The report confirms that rising complexity and global scale of Indian IT firms are driving executive pay hikes across the board.

For Vijaykumar, the earnings combination includes base salary, bonuses, stock options, and other benefits. It’s that mix of long‑term equity and performance incentives that pushed his total beyond ₹95 crore. Many see his rising pay as validation of HCL’s growth momentum and innovative strategy in digital services and as‑a‑service offerings.

C. Vijaykumar’s ₹95 crore compensation is a landmark in India’s IT leadership compensation history the highest among top peers and a signal of growing global competitiveness of Indian tech executives.
