Enforcement Directorate raids 13 Delhi locations tied to AAP’s Saurabh Bhardwaj in a money-laundering probe into alleged irregularities in hospital construction
In the early hours of August 26, 2025, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided 13 locations in Delhi-NCR, including the residence of Aam Aadmi Party leader and former minister Saurabh Bhardwaj. The action has been taken under the alleged irregularities and money-lolling investigation in hospital infrastructure projects, which were approved during your previous government.
According to an FIR registered by Delhi Police in June 2025, projects worth about ₹ 5,590 crore - including construction of new hospitals and upgrades of polyclinic and ICU - are under the purview of the zen. Officials have alleged that the budget of the projects has been systematic manipulation, delays in works and large -scale financial disturbances related to public funds and contractors.
In response, other leaders, including senior AAP leader Atishi, condemned these raids, inspiring him politically and alleged that the Centre’s agency was trying to divert attention from other controversies. Atishi questioned the time of raids and said that this action can be tried to suppress the debate on Prime Minister Modi's educational qualification.
This investigation not only highlights the blurred boundaries between politics and governance, but also highlights accountability in public health infrastructure projects. This action strengthens the rule of law or deepens political tension-it is a different matter, but it makes it clear how deeply infrastructure, power and transparency have been connected to each other in the context of India's urban rule.
