Delhi's Chhawla murder case: Komal's body found floating in a canal days after she went missing. Accused Asif arrested; police investigate further.
A woman's body was found floating in a canal in Delhi's Chhawla area, sparking an uproar. The victim, identified as Komal from Seemapuri’s Sundari Nagar, was allegedly murdered by Asif, a taxi driver and her acquaintance.
According to the police investigation, Asif picked up Komal from Seemapuri on March 12. Following a dispute, he strangled her to death, tied her body to a stone, and dumped it in the canal. On March 17, her body surfaced after swelling up.
Earlier, Komal's family had reported her missing, leading to a kidnapping case at the Seemapuri police station. After her body was discovered, a murder case was registered in Chhawla.
Asif has been arrested, and the car used in the crime has been seized. Police are investigating whether others were involved.
