BRS MLC K Kavitha accuses party insiders of plotting a merger with BJP and distancing her from KCR. She highlights internal conflicts and responds to leaked let
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha on Thursday claimed there is a plot to merge her party with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), revealing that this controversy started while she was imprisoned.
Kavitha also alleged efforts were underway to create a rift between her and her father, party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). Speaking to reporters, she said, “There is a conspiracy to merge BRS with BJP. When I was in jail, discussions took place within the party about this, which I strongly opposed and was willing to stay in jail if needed.”
She further accused some party members of conspiring against her during her imprisonment. “No one in BRS accepts leadership other than KCR. I belong to BRS, and while going to jail, I even offered to resign from my MLC post. I was targeted on the party’s social media accounts,” she added. Kavitha has raised similar allegations before.
Last week, she spoke about internal conflicts within BRS and expressed concern over the leak of a letter she wrote to KCR. She mentioned conspiracies happening within the party and described KCR as a god surrounded by “devils.”
Reiterating her stance on Thursday, Kavitha said, “Some people claim we are trying to lead KCR. Are they big enough to lead him? They should explain who leaked my letter. Why doesn’t the party deny these false rumors about me?”
“I avoid petty politics like them and remain calm. KCR is the only leader in BRS, and I will not accept anyone else’s leadership,” she asserted.
The controversy ignited after a handwritten “feedback” letter Kavitha wrote to KCR about the party’s recent Warangal public meeting surfaced, stirring political debates in Telangana. In the letter, written in Telugu and English, she noted, “Since you (KCR) spoke for only two minutes, some speculated about a possible BJP tie-up. I felt you should have spoken more firmly against BJP, considering what I suffered because of them. You should have targeted BJP more, Daddy.”
