Anant Ambani donates ₹5 crore for Har Ki Pauri development, showing the Ambani family’s deep-rooted commitment to preserving India’s spiritual heritage through
Anant Ambani, the youngest son of industrialist Mukesh Ambani, has contributed ₹5 crore to the Ganga Sabha in Haridwar for the development of Har Ki Pauri, one of India’s most sacred pilgrimage destinations. The donation aims to enhance infrastructure and public amenities at the revered ghat, which draws millions of devotees every year. Anant visited the site with his father and wife, where he personally reviewed the ongoing work before making the commitment. The gesture reflects the family’s enduring involvement in preserving India’s cultural and religious legacy.
Following the visit, Anant Ambani hosted Ganga Sabha official Tanmay Vashisht at Antilia, the Ambani residence in Mumbai, for in-depth discussions on Haridwar’s development projects and long-term conservation of the Ganga river. The meeting highlighted the importance of combining spiritual responsibility with sustainable growth. Vashisht lauded the Ambani family’s dedication, emphasizing that the support extended far beyond monetary aid, it symbolized a heartfelt connection to India’s spiritual traditions and an intent to uplift sacred heritage.
This isn’t Anant Ambani’s first philanthropic effort in this space. In 2020, he had extended a similar ₹5 crore donation to the Uttarakhand Char Dham Devasthanam Board to support iconic temples like Kedarnath and Badrinath during the pandemic. The family’s consistent efforts to assist in religious infrastructure and conservation underscore a broader vision, to protect and promote India’s spiritual identity. Through such meaningful contributions, the Ambanis continue to support not only infrastructure but also the cultural continuity that these places of worship represent across generations.
